South Dakota Public Broadcasting, in partnership with South Dakota Humanities Council and the 2020 South Dakota Festival of Books, presents a virtual screening and online discussion of UNLADYLIKE2020 on Tuesday October 13th at 2pm CT (1 MT) featuring the segment profiling author, musician, and voting rights activist Zitkála Šá. The panel will include executive producers Sandra Rattley & Charlotte Mangin, along with Dr. Jane Hafen, Professor Emerita of English at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and editor of Dreams and Thunder: Stories, Poems and The Sun Dance Opera by Zitkala-Ša, and “Help Indians Help Themselves”: The Later Writings of Gertrude Simmons Bonnin (Zitkala-Ša). The conversation will be moderated by Lori Walsh, host of SDPB’s Dakota Midday.
