National Council for History Education

UNLADYLIKE2020 is kicking off the 2021 Conference of the National Council for History Education, presenting our rich history content and curriculum to hundreds of history educators on April 8. Executive Producers Charlotte Mangin and Sandy Rattley are joined by Sandy Goldberg, Director of Education at WNET, for a 2-hour presentation and audience Q&A titled “The Stories of Women History Makers.” Spotlighting three thematic segments about women in STEM, Indigenous women, and civil rights, we will screen short films about Williamina Fleming, trailblazing astronomer and discoverer of over 300 stars, Queen Lili’uokalani, the first sovereign queen and last monarch of Hawai’i, and Charlotta Spears Bass, newspaper editor, civil rights activist, and the first Black woman Vice Presidential candidate; demonstrate the supporting classroom resources; and answer questions from the audience.
